Palm Crest + Somesurprises + Ancient Pools + Mini Blinds
9pm / 21+ / $7
Somesurprises is the moniker of Seattle singer/songwriter Natasha El-Sergany. What once was a solo project focusing on spectral balladry and late night exploration, somesurprises has since formed into a dynamic live band. Motorik beats, reverb-drenched vocals, washes of fingerpicked guitars, and hazy synths expand El-Sergany’s delicate and blissful songwriting.
Mini Blinds has been compared to a dreamier version of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Formed as a duo in Portland, OR in late 2015. Both Beth Ann Dear (Appendixes) and Devin Welch (Blood Brothers, Shoplifting, Past Lives, Appendixes) have been playing music in the Pacific Northwest in some form for most of their lives. Drawing influences from the 90s female fronted alt-rock, 80s British twee & shoegaze, the Paisley Underground, and K records, they have created a sound with many layers and a common thread.
